The Accessibility User Research Collective (AURC) is looking for people with colorblindness, a visual impairment that results in difficulty distinguishing color, to provide feedback on their experience using mapping and navigational apps.
Mapping and navigational apps often use color to indicate bodies of water, highways, parks, traffic levels, and more. Accessing information while using this technology may be challenging for some people with visual impairment, specifically colorblindness. Microsoft researchers would like to learn more about the experiences of individuals who have colorblindness as they use mapping and navigational apps. The overall goal of this study is to learn about the user experience of people with colorblindness and improve accessibility of this Microsoft technology product and service.
To be eligible you must:
Use mapping and navigational applications (e.g., Google Maps, Bing Maps, Waze)
Have a disability (vision, cognitive, mobility/dexterity)
Be 18 years of age or older
Prefer English for reading and writing
Be a member of the Accessibility User Research Collective (AURC)
Participants in this survey study will be asked to answer questions about themselves, their experiences using mapping and navigational technology, and ways to improve mapping and navigational technology via an online survey. Participation in this survey study may take about 30 minutes to complete. Following completion of the interview, participants will receive a $25 stipend for their time and effort.
If you are interested in participating in this study, please use the Enrollment Form button below. It will ask you to type your name, email and add a short note on your interest in the project. Someone from the AURC staff will contact you shortly to verify you meet the recruitment criteria so you can participate.
