Are you a screen reader user? Do you play video games? We are seeking people who rely on screen readers and play video games on their Windows 10 PC’s to provide feedback.

The Accessibility User Research Collective (AURC) invites screen reader users who game to be a part of this research study being conducted by Microsoft.

Microsoft researchers are conducting a study evaluating the accessibility of the Xbox (Beta) app. This app allows users to complete key actions related to the Xbox platform, including socializing with other players, purchasing and downloading new games, and engaging with Game Pass. Microsoft researchers would like to learn more about the user experience of individuals who rely on screen readers as they navigate the Store, Social, and Game Pass tabs. Data gathered from this study will be used to improve the overall accessibility of the Xbox (Beta) app.

To be eligible you must:

  • Play games on a Windows 10 PC

  • Have an Xbox Live account

  • Use a screen reader to navigate your computer

  • Be at least 18 years of age or older

  • Prefer English for reading and writing

  • Be a member of the Accessibility User Research Collective (AURC)

Participants in this study will be asked to carry out a few tasks and answer questions about their experiences via an online survey. Participation will take no more than 60 minutes. Following study completion participants will receive a $50 stipend for their time and effort.

If you are interested in participating in this study, please use the automated Enrollment Form button at the bottom of the Study #82 information and enrollment consideration button found below.

It will ask you to type your name, email and add a short note on your interest in the project.  Someone from the AURC staff will contact you shortly to verify you meet the recruitment criteria so you can participate.
