The Accessibility User Research Collective (AURC) invites gamers who rely on screen readers to provide feedback on their user experience in a research study being conducted by Microsoft.
Microsoft researchers are conducting a study evaluating the accessibility of the Xbox Game Pass app on mobile devices. The app allows users to complete actions related to the Xbox platform, including purchasing and installing new games, creating Play Later lists, finding details about games like trailers and game ratings, adjusting accessibility settings, and more. Microsoft researchers would like to learn more about the accessibility experiences of screen reader users that game. Data gathered from this study will be used to improve the usability and accessibility of Microsoft products and services.
To be eligible you must:
Have a mobile device (Android or iOS/iPhone)
Use a screen reader to access information on their mobile device
Play Xbox games on PC or Xbox console
Play games at least 1-2 times per week
Subscribe to Game Pass
Be at least 18 years of age or older
Prefer English for reading and writing
Be a member of the Accessibility User Research Collective (AURC)
Participants in this study will be asked to carryout a few tasks (e.g. search for game, adjust notification settings, add a game to your Play Later list). Study participation should take no more than 60 minutes. Following study completion each participant will receive a $50 stipend for their time and effort.
If you are interested in participating in this study, please use the automated Enrollment Form button at the bottom of this Study #88 information page.
It will ask you to type your name, email and add a short note on your interest in the project. Please also let us know if you have an Android or iOS device. Someone from the AURC staff will contact you shortly to verify you meet the recruitment criteria so you can participate.
